When Lara started at Chimpy, she came right off her studies at the University of Lucerne where she dedicated three years of her life to the subjects of Economics with focus on Marketing and Communications. Why did she join Chimpy after that? Well, firstly she wanted a traineeship – and we offered one at that time 😜 – , secondly and more importantly, she realized in her studies that she wanted to work for a company she could support and identify with 100% and would be looking forward to working for every single day. In her words:
“Working simply to earn money is no option for me. As well as enduring the week and only looking forward to the weekend isn’t. The company I work for has to act sustainably. I want to have fun at work and like spending time with the people I work with – also outside working hours – and I need to get the opportunity to grow.”
Let’s have another quote, of her first visit at Chimpy, because it’s so nice:
“The first job interview at Chimpy had nothing conventional about it. It seemed more like a chat with some friends and happened over croissants and water – offered to me in an old cucumber jar 🥒😅 – on the couch with feet on the table while everyone was wearing shorts. I felt at home immediately and knew I wanted to work here.”
One steep climb up up up
The traineeship offered the possibility of growing into the tasks of a Marketing Channel Managerin without too much pressure and responsibility while getting to make a lot of mistakes, fire away with endless questions and ask for help anytime. Boy, how nervous she was, when she launched her first Social Media Campaign. Totally unnecessary, because only after three months the traineeship was prematurely turned into a permanent position. Well done, Lara! 🔥 So what has changed in her work since then? More autonomy, more authority to make decisions and sole responsibility for the Social Media Advertising budget as well as basically everything regarding our Marketing Channels.
So, what’s next for her?
You might think she deserved some time to relax and enjoy her achievements, right? Not Lara. In October she will start her further studies in Content Marketing to grow more, learn more and be an even bigger asset to Chimpy. We love it! 💚 So we give flexibility to decrease workload and help on the money side to make it possible!
By now it should be obvious that we celebrate Lara 🎊 and are proud to have her on board, so let’s hear some more of her thoughts about why Chimpy’s just right for her:
“I love that we look for unconventional ways to promote our service. It enables creativity and makes work varied. People at Chimpy ask for your opinion, I get to speak my mind and involve myself anywhere I want. Everyone is important and contributes to our success. The teamspirit is something I have never seen in any other company. We all work together for one goal and support each other even if from time to time this means doing stuff not included in the job description.”

What about you? You Chimpy material?
So if you still ask yourself “Could Chimpy be the right place to work for me?”, here Lara’s two cents on that:
“To feel comfortable and at home at Chimpy you should want to invest into a sustainable future. You should be flexible, open to new and unconventional stuff. You should not be picky. You should tolerate a nasty joke from time to time, respect Vegetarians/Vegans and not need designer furniture to do your best work. You should like to go on Holidays (as we have 6 weeks per year) and appreciate spending some time with the team outside your 40 hours work week. And most importantly: You should looove to have fun at work! 😄”
