What is Chimpy?
How to explain Chimpy in a few seconds
At the counter, keep it simple and clear. A good explanation is:
“You can rent a powerbank here, use it while you're out, and return it later at any Chimpy location.”
This short explanation is usually enough for customers to understand the service immediately.
Pricing (Switzerland)
The pricing is simple and transparent:
CHF 5 rental fee
CHF 15 deposit
Total: CHF 20 at the time of rental
The deposit is refunded when the powerbank is returned.
How returns work
When a customer returns the powerbank:
The system automatically calculates the refund
The deposit (CHF 15) is refunded depending on how long the powerbank was used
Refund rules:
Returned within 7 days → full refund (CHF 15)
After 7 days → CHF 2 deducted per additional week
💡 Important: The refund amount may be lower than CHF 15 — this is correct and not a mistake.
Important things to tell customers
Make sure customers understand the following:
The powerbank can be returned at any Chimpy location
No receipt is required for the return
A charging cable is included and must be returned
The refund is handled automatically by the system
Cable types
Each powerbank includes a charging cable.
Make sure the customer gets the correct one:
USB-C → newer Android devices
Lightning → iPhones
Micro-USB → older Android devices
If needed, you can swap cables before handing over the powerbank.
Common customer questions

Best practice for staff

Always speak with confidence
